Administrative and Social Media Assistant - Part Time
Overview
The Administrative and Social Media Assistant (ASMA) is an integral piece of the MCR team. This team member is responsible for the forward-facing MCR communications and is the behind-the-scenes wizard that makes the business’ spirit and passion come to life. This is a highly rewarding role for an individual passionate about innovation, personal and small business growth, and a penchant for developing outstanding communication products. Applicants should also have familiarity with dog sport(s) and/or canine rehabilitation.

Work Environment
MCR is an energetic, young company looking for a team member that shares its passion for canine rehabilitation and business growth. Hours will vary and be negotiated weekly, with the expectation that some tasks can be done quite quickly to respond to urgent needs. Ideally, the candidate would be flexible in total weekly hours worked (varying based on project needs) and able to respond quickly via e-mail, chat, or phone as the need arises.
This is a remote-based role. Preference is given to Ontario based residents.

Duties
- Maintain MCR’s social media platforms, including daily Facebook posts
- First point of contact for new clients, engagement on social media posts
- Regular website maintenance and updates (Weebly platform)
- Design attractive posters, social media posts in Canva (no design qualifications required, but should have eye and aptitude for a basic but clean design)
Required Skills
- Outstanding verbal and non-verbal communication skills; extensive writing skills for a variety of purposes and audiences
- Technical aptitude with the ability to learn and comfortably use a variety of communications software and applications “Can do” attitude with a talent for problem-solving
- Creativity and passion for “how can we do this better?”
- Self-directed, able to work autonomously on tasks with support from social media coordinator
- Regularly demonstrates initiative
- Familiarity with canine sports and basic knowledge of the canine rehabilitation field
- Prior familiarity with Weebly, Active Campaign, and Canva platforms
- Video editing skills
- Familiarity with summarizing peer-reviewed research
