Services We Offer
McIntyre Canine Rehabilitation offers a variety of services intended to help your dog achieve and maintain its highest level of physical fitness as possible. We are offer both preventative and rehabilitation services- so whether you want to help prevent injuries and pain or treat your dog’s acute or chronic conditions- we can help.
Physical rehabilitation: Is your dog currently dealing with an acute or ongoing injury? Carolyn provides a full, comprehensive assessment to determine the source and severity of the issue. She then uses a combination of therapeutic modalities, an at-home exercise program, and ongoing owner education and support to help your dog return to its best self.
Fitness evaluation: Just like with people, your dog will benefit from a proactive approach to their physical health. This means staying active to prevent injuries and maintain quality of life instead of waiting until there is pain and discomfort. In a fitness evaluation, Carolyn develops a snapshot of your dog’s baseline fitness, identifying areas of imbalance, weakness, or inflexibility. She then develops a personalized at-home fitness program for you to complete with your dog.
Canine conditioning classes: Dogs like social outings, too! What better way to learn new exercises, stretches, and use of equipment then in a fun, group setting? This is for every dog and owner, whether your dog is a flyball athlete or a professional cuddler. All exercises will be modified to the fitness level of each individual dog. Dogs will need to be screened by Carolyn prior to being accepted into classes.
Workshops and seminars: One of the best ways to nurture your relationship with your dog is to learn new things together. Carolyn offers workshops on a variety of topics, typically ranging from two to four hours in length, designed to help you discover new ways to maximize your dog’s fitness. Sample workshops include the plank series, high intensity interval training (HIIT), and specialized workshops for sport (e.g. conditioning for the conformation athlete). Workshops are offered both by MCR and at the request of vet clinics, clubs, and other canine related organizations.
